Steam Generators

Steam generators are heat exchangers that generate steam using heated feedwater. Terminal plants, asphalt production facilities, and other applications requiring steam generation often rely on this equipment. Steam generators are ideal for facilities that need steam but do not want to invest in expensive boiler equipment and operators.

Suction Heaters

Suction heaters are heat exchangers that heat different types of high-viscosity liquids, such as fuel oil and asphalt. In the process, suction heaters reduce the liquid’s viscosity to make it easier to pump. This eliminates the need to maintain a whole tank of these substances at pumping temperatures.

Through the use of suction heaters, facilities can simply heat the pumped liquid as needed. As such, suction heaters offer a more cost-effective tank heating solution for a range of applications.

Suction heaters work using a system of mounted tube bundles within a shell, with openings on one end and closures on the other. Through the open end, liquid flows into the system. Inside the shell, a heat transfer medium like steam or hot oil heats the fluid in the tubes. When the contained liquid reaches the appropriate temperature, the suction heater pumps the liquid out.

Bayonet Heaters

Also called immersion heaters, bayonet heaters facilitate efficient tank heating for many types of fluids. What differentiates these systems from other tank heating solutions is the use of an entirely submerged tube bundle and a heating coil that makes direct contact with the heated fluid. This design allows for considerably more efficient heating.

These tank heating solutions offer more versatility than others, allowing for multiple starting temperatures within or outside of the tubes. Their design facilitates counter-flow, cross-flow, and parallel operation.
